Resistance alloy carries a full range of Heating Element & Resistance Alloys (FeCrAl) Sheets & Plates. These are ferromagnetic alloys whose electrical resistance properties are similar to those of the Nickel-Chromium alloys, making them suitable for electrical heating applications. Although absence of nickel makes them cheaper than Nickel-Chromium alloys, it also makes them more prone to corrosion. Care should be taken to operate these heating elements in dry conditions to minimize corrosion. Exposure to high temperatures can also lead to creep and embrittlement, but with adequate support elements, these problems can be avoided

A family of iron-chromium-aluminium (FeCrAl) alloys consist mainly of iron, chromium (12-27%) and aluminium (3,5 – 5,5%) and are used in a wide range of resistance and high-temperature applications. These alloys are known for their ability to withstand high temperatures (up to 1425°C (2600°F)) and having intermediate electric resistance (1,20 – 1,30 μΩ · m) due to their ability to create a protective alumina scale on the surface.

Nickel-Chromium (NiCr)

Nickel-Chromium (NiCr) – is a group of alloys with Ni content of 55-78%, Cr content of 15-23%, depending on the grade, and additives of Mn, Si, Fe and Al. NiCr alloys have excellent resistance to high temperature oxidation and corrosion and good wear resistance. Due to its resistance to oxidation and stability at high temperatures (up to 1250ºC (2280ºF), it is widely used in electric heating elements, such as in appliances and tools. NiCr alloys have higher hot and creep strength than FeCrAl alloys.
